No. Snap Care does not take insurance for services/visits with the provider.
Call your insurance company to find out if they cover any GLP1 medications and what criteria must be met to qualify. Do this before booking an appointment with SnapCare. Be sure to ask if step therapy is required first. This means taking a less expensive medication before trying a GLP1. You can still book an appointment with SnapCare and we can start you on step therapy.
If insurance will not cover the cost of medication, you'll have the option to pay for the medication out of pocket (typically $500–$1,600/month, depending on the medication-there are coupon cards available on the manufacturer websites) or switch to our compounded medication membership.
We are unable to refund any fees for services already performed. To prevent prior authorization denials, it's important before booking to contact your insurance company and find out if the medication is covered, what your insurance company requires to qualify for it. Just because it's covered, you may have to be diabetic to qualify or may have to complete 3 months of step therapy with a less expensive drug and fail. Find this out before booking.
Submit your current lab work at the time of booking. You may need additional labs to meet insurance criteria. We will send you to LabCorp for testing if required. The labs should be covered by your insurance. They are not included in the SnapCare program.
